[SCCC] 2020 Field Day

It's always interesting to see what band/state is easy for some, while remaining elusive for others (50 years!). I worked several UTs on 15m in FD, but was happiest to work 3 of the 5 I needed on 15m. Still need NV and ND. Only need DE and ME on 40m and believe I could have worked them if I hadn't QRTed before 40m got going. As it was I heard every 1-land and 3-land state, except those in about 10 minutes on 40m.

For those needing DE on 80m, you might want to try the upcoming CW and SSB NAQP contests in August. There are usually a couple of active DE stations on.

Not me, you guys can have that one.  I completed my 5B WAS in the WPX CW, by working UT on 15 meters!  It only took 50 years.
Speaking of which, I earned WN6BIL 50 years ago, in June of 1970, and so am celebrating 50 years of contesting.  I'm planning to operate as WA6BIL in some of the domestic contests this year just to see if anyone remembers.  The old call sign has been lurking on a UHF repeater in the mean time, so it's still in good shape.  :)

 Hey, Vic.

I would have arm-wrestled you for that 80m DE; it's also the last state I
need to work for 5BWAS!  :-)

If you don't get it before next May, spend some time in the New England QSO
Party (first weekend in May), when all those states are active and the state
is part of the exchange.

Band  Mode  QSOs
  3.5  CW      54
    7  CW      50
    14  CW      62
    21  CW      36
 Total          202

Main goal was to 1) work all CW.  Not EZ since my code is so weak.
2) Work DE on 80 for 5 band WAS
#1 worked out great.  I even got a little better.  Not so much for #2.
Only worked 3 east coasters on 80.
15 was a pleasant surprise though it faded in and out a lot..
Word was lots of activity on 2 but I'm FM only no CW.  The only thing I
heard on 6 was
FT8 trash.
Have no idea how much time I spent on air. Had to stop every hour or so
because of my back and hips. Overdue for another surgery
I had a neighbor over to start the generator Saturday and hot refueled all
day.  3AM Sunday
I managed to start it myself but think I tore loose my shoulder implant.
Selling this getset and getting one with an electric start!!!
