SCCC, And more info. I did have this video pointed out by a friend Ken,
WA6DPQ, a couple years ago who was in the video. Here are his comments
below. Note the first link is the same video but with an introduction by
Dave Bell added and the second a poor copy of some of the original footage
used in Dave Bell's 1970 production. /Dan KI6X

FYI Dan,
I finally located the vintage Ham Radio films (recently posted on YouTube)
that gave us our "15 seconds of fame" back when we were teenagers.
Our club group was the West Valley amateur Radio club (WVARC) in the SF
Valley, and the film was made by Dave Bell when he first started out
producing Ham Radio documentaries.

"This is Ham Radio" Film (vintage 1970 with excerpts from 1969).
Re-mastered by ARRL and officially posted onto YouTube in on 10/24/11:

I have my 15 seconds of fame starting at the following times:
5m_21s to 5m_25s ; 5m_29s to 5m_43s ; 5m_56s to 6m_02s ; 14m_53s to 15m_03s

Here is the link to "A Hams Wide World" original film (vintage 1969).
This was the original film that provided our "simulated" Field Day excerpts
that made it into the 1970 "This is Ham Radio" Film. ARRL apparently has
digitized this one into a DVD version, but obviously this youtube was made
directly off the original film version.

While I was going to Charles Evans Hughes Junior High in Woodland Hills, CA
- I met some hams there. Two of them were brothers and a third brother was
studying for his Novice. They were members of the West Valley Amateur Radio
Club, which met in a small boy scout building on Collins Street (nice name).

Some of the members had gotten the attention of Dave Bell and he decided to
use the club for some of the footage for his films. This included John
Musselman (WB6UHF) and Matt Futterman (WB6KPN). The idea of putting a
camera on a mast and pushing up the antenna is classic - and well before go
cams. I wasn't there for that part - but got invited over to be part of the
"class". I know WB6FWC is in the audience (who is now an SK) along with
another Musselman brother who never did get licensed.

Last saw Charlene at Cal State Univ Northridge where she works in the
Engineering department. Was there last year.
