John Stanford, KF6Y, of Island Amplifiers (one of our own and a frequent
contest score reporter here) did give a presentation on a new 1500+ watt
solid state amplifier that he represents and will service. I believe
this was the model RF2K-S, made by a company called RF-Kit; the
amplifier looked good on John's slides. Perhaps he's already putting
together some info for you, Dennis....

Both Flex and Elecraft were there with large booths (I noticed lots of
people apparently filling in their order forms at the Elecraft booth)
but I didn't notice any new product announcements from either. M2 was
there with cutaway 40m traps from their 40m beam... those traps looked
like they were part of the condenser from a Kentucky whiskey still  8-P
Surpisingly, Henry Radio was also there but since they apparently only
have FM amplifiers nowadays, I never saw anyone talking at their booth.

Much of the activity was at the several parts vendors: Impulse
Electronics, Hi-Tech Liquidators (who had too much schtuff to easily
pore through in just a couple hours but don't have a web site; nor will
they ship), and Wired Communications, to mention several. US Tower was
there but the rep couldn't help me with my questions about evaluating my
soil for tower bases. DX Engineering was rather conspicious with their
lack of attendance as a vendor, although one could buttonhole any of at
least three reps (including Tim Duffy hisself, K3LR) if you saw them
walking within the convention hall or their two sponsored
attitude-improvement hours. HRO was there, of course, with lots of
traffic (I even spent a wad of cash with them, myself).
