Comments:

 

We have a joke out west that once a VHF contest starts, 6 meters goes dead.
Of

course, in January, it's normally pretty dead anyway. And Saturday was just

that. Dead! There were hardly even any locals on. Sunday morning was more of
the

same except for a small number of stations on MSK. As the noon hour
approached,

I was about to hang it up for awhile and watch the NFL playoffs. Just as the

first game was about to get under way, the band began to open! And it
remained

open for the next 6 1/2 hours! Best of all, the Sporadic E opening moved
around

the country so mults were had from Texas to the Pacific Northwest and then
out

toward the Great Lakes area! Most of my contacts were digital but SSB was

hopping too! It was really unbelievable! This is the best score I've ever
posted

in a VHF contest!
