Comments:

We have a joke out west that once a VHF contest starts, 6 meters goes dead.
Of
course, in January, it's normally pretty dead anyway. And Saturday was just
that. Dead! There were hardly even any locals on. Sunday morning was more of
the
same except for a small number of stations on MSK. As the noon hour
approached,
I was about to hang it up for awhile and watch the NFL playoffs. Just as the
first game was about to get under way, the band began to open! And it
remained
open for the next 6 1/2 hours! Best of all, the Sporadic E opening moved
around
the country so mults were had from Texas to the Pacific Northwest and then
out
toward the Great Lakes area! Most of my contacts were digital but SSB was
hopping too! It was really unbelievable! This is the best score I've ever
posted
in a VHF contest!
