                    CQ Worldwide DX Contest, SSB - 2025 Call: W6PHOperator(s): W6PHStation: W6PH Class: SO(A)AB HPQTH: Lone Pine CAOperating Time (hrs): 24.5 Summary:Band  QSOs  Zones  Countries------------------------------  160:                     80:                     40:  19    7        9  20:  283    31      100  15:  373    32      373  10:  705    34      126------------------------------Total: 1380  104      346  Total Score = 1,772,550 Club: Southern California Contest Club Comments: K3S SPE 1.3K  DXLogAnt:  A3S at 40 feet, 40-2CD at 8 feet (eight feet) I haven't been active since last March because my antennas are all lowered.I have an A3S on 40 feet of Rohn 25 but it had a feedline problem.  I climbedthe tower on Thursday morning and was able to repair the problem.  Thisisn't easy for 83 yrs but I got it done.  I started in the contest with theintention of just working multipliers to see if I could get 100 countries oneach band.  The conditions were so good that I got sucked into operating morethan I had planned.  Ten meters was about the best I have experienced with manylong distance zones being heard.  Unfortunately I didn't have enough ERP toget into zone 21 or 22.  Those stations although very audible just CQed in myface.  I spent too much time fruitlessly trying to get through.  My drill was toS&P through a band using the bandmap to bypass stations I had alreadyworked.  I did a little running when the band was open to Asia.  I felt thenumber of JA's were down this year compared to previous years.  I went outto my shack before sunrise on Sunday morning waiting for the high bands to open.Out of curiosity I tried making some contacts with my 40-2CD which is sittingat 8 feet above the ground  Surprisingly I picked up 16 mults including zones1,3,25,28,30,31,and 32.  It was a pleasant surprise.  It was a lot of fun withreally good conditions. 73, Kurt W6PH
