XP will not boot to DOS, but you can still run SD on it.  Use
Windows Explorer to locate SD.EXE, then right-click on the icon.
Select Properties, then Memory and allocate 4Mb to Expanded Memory
(EMS - not Extended Memory XMS).  SD should then run.  I've also
run SD on WIN2000 using the same approach.

I'm reliably informed that, on XP, you can access serial ports for
both CW and rig control, but not parallel ports.  I'd welcome any
feedback one way or the other.
