V9.91 21 July 2002
SD - Type 9: Worked all Europe.
With Super Check Partial (SCP) enabled, SD
crashed when QTCs were entered. Fixed.
SDI - IOTA Contest:
Updated IOTA.REF and SDIOTA.CTY supplied. They're
not essential, as SDI scores correctly even when
these files are not up-to-date.
AutoCW improved (see below). If you're operating
CW from an IOTA island, you should add your IOTA
Ref to the F2 message (after #S - Serial Sent).
AutoCW - all programs.
When AutoCW is enabled (it's toggled with the A
command), ACW replaces CW on the Status field
underneath the callsign on the logging line.
Note that your CW speed is shown only if you
have enabled a CW port with the PORTS command.
When using the RST command option to vary RST
Sent, your "changed" RST was not picked up by
the keyer. That's now fixed, and the F2 message
(Callsign + Exchange) is sent when you press
Enter from the RST Sent field.
When your RST Sent does not change (the default)
the F2 message is sent after Enter from the
Callsign field.
With AutoCW enabled, Log on Enter is disabled
to avoid conflicts. If you then disable AutoCW,
or change to SSB, your "normal" Log on Enter
status is restored.
The status of Log on Enter is shown under the
Callsign field. L indicates that it's enabled.
A reminder that, when you use the Function keys
to play CW memories (apart from F1 = CQ), AutoCW
is disabled. When necessary, re-enable it with
the A command.
In the release notes for V9.85, it was stated
that "If you have Auto CW enabled, and change a
callsign before logging the QSO, the corrected
callsign is added to the "TU" message (normally
F3), to confirm the correction to the other
station. This still happens, but only when you
return to the callsign field to make a change.
No correction is needed where SD has completed
a partial callsign. For example, you type W3LP,
then Enter, then L. The keyer starts immediately
you press Enter, but sends W3LPL before the
exchange.
SDX: AutoCW was disabled each time a QSO was
logged. Fixed.
SDV: All Contest Options.
AutoCW has been added. As with SD, it's toggled
with the A command, and indicated by ACW on the
status line below the Callsign field.
Variable RST. Unlike the HF programs, the RST
Sent and RST Received fields are always present
on SDV's logging line.
You can toggle between "fixed" and variable RST
Sent with the RST command. Your logging sequence
depends on the status of Variable RST. When it's
fixed, you'll see a line above the RST Sent and
Serial Sent fields. The sequence (using Enter
after every field) is
Callsign
Serial Received
Locator Received
District Code Received (if applicable).
You can tab between all fields regardless of the
status of variable RST. This way, you can log
any value of RST Sent even though Fixed RST has
been selected. In normal circumstances, Enter
is the recommended field terminator.
With Fixed RST selected, if you receive a report
other than 59(9), you can press Enter, in the
empty Serial Received field, to return to RST
Received. Type the changed RST, followed by
Enter, to return to the Serial Received field.
When you select Variable RST Sent, the line above
RST Sent and Serial Sent disappears, and Enter
takes you through all fields in sequence.
Log on Enter is also supported by SDV, although
it's only relevant (or helpful) in multi-band
and/or multi-mode events. SDV will auto-fill
the Locator and District Code fields when you
work a station more than once, and will log the
QSO immediately you enter the Serial Received.
If you're unsure about this feature, leave it
Off. You can toggle it On and Off with the L
command.
With Log on Enter enabled, the letter L appears
on the status line before the mode. It's
disabled when you select AutoCW.
Own Locator: This is shown immediately below the
RST Sent and Serial Sent fields - so that your
complete exchange is visible in the one place.
CW Padding Factor (CWZERO command) is used to
make serials (#S keyer parameter) more readable
by adding extra spacing between digits. This
feature has been extended to the locator (#L).
Keyer Memories F1-F8
I've updated the default keyer messages to give
better support for AutoCW. You might like to
edit yours (Shift-F1 to F8).
F1-F4 correspond to the messages when running
other stations.
F1: TEST #R #R TEST
(TEST YourCall YourCall TEST)
Plays when you press Enter from an empty
callsign field
F2: #C #T #S#E
(Callsign RST Serial Enter)
Plays when you press Enter from a valid
callsign (or from the RST Sent if you
have chosen variable RST Sent with the
RST command).
F3: TU #R#E
(TU YourCall Enter)
F4: #C #T #S#E
This is the Dupe message. I log dupes,
so F4 is the same as F2. If you prefer
not to log them, you should edit F4.
F5-F6 are for use when searching and pouncing.
AutoCW is disabled when you use any Function
key (other than F1) to play messages. You
should have Caps Lock ON, or use the Numeric
Keypad (with Num Lock OFF).
F5: #R (YourCall)
F6: TU #T #S
(TU RST Serial)
F7: #T #P (RST Previous Serial)
F8: ?
Note: In VHF contests, when your locator is
part of the exchange, you may have to add #L
to F2 and F6 - between #S and #E.
Cabrillo Logs for IARU HF Championship.
SDCHECK did not include your ARRL-SECTION, and
your mode was omitted from the CATEGORY record.
Fixed.
ADIF Logs for IARU HF Championship.
For QSOs with HQ stations, the first two
letters of the Society abbreviation were output
in the ITU Zone <ITUZ:> tag. SDCHECK now checks
for a numeric zone, otherwise no <ITUZ:> tag is
output.
SDR: Re-scoring IARU SD logs.
Frequency data was not transferred from SD's
.ALL file to the .NEW file. Fixed.
Some HQ station QSOs, although correctly scored
by SD as 1 point, were flagged by SDR as having
an incorrect score. Fixed.
