For development and distribution purposes I have to give them
different names.

If you intend using only the DOS version, I'd suggest that,
once you've downloaded and unzipped SDDOS.ZIP, you simply
rename SDDOS.EXE as SD.EXE, and SDCHKDOS.EXE as SDCHECK.EXE.
That way, everything will appear to be the same as you're
used to.

No, I won't drop the DOS version.  However, chances are that
it'll be easier for me to add certain new features to the
Windows version because there are effectively no memory
constraints - which greatly influences QSO capacity in the
DOS version.
