The LZ Open Contest takes place from 04:00 to 12:00 UTC
on Saturday 20th January. It's a CW-only event on 40 & 80m.
Rules at www.linkove.com/lz-open-contest/rules/rules.htm
SD supports SO entries in this event. V13.13 runs on any
Windows PC and is free from www.ei5di.com/sd/sdsetup.exe.
Select SD's "LZ Open" template.
This is an everyone-works-everyone event. The exchange
is Serial + Serial Received from the previous QSO. For
the first QSO you send 001 000. There is no RST.
Dupes are a function of time only, regardless of band. A
dupe is any QSO with a particular station within 30 minutes
of the previous QSO. You could work the same station every
30 minutes or so throughout the contest. SD tracks dupes
correctly in this event.
You should update SD's F2 CW memory (with Shift-F2) to
remove the #R (RST) parameter. When entering the
"Serials Received" they should be separated by a single
space or /.
SD does not need leading zeros. For example, 5/32 is
logged as 005 032, and the 005 is used by SD's keyer
for the next QSO.
After the contest, use SDCHECK to create your Cabrillo .LOG
file. Email it, as an attached file, to LZ1GL at yahoo.com.
