[SECC] Re: 2001 GQP Plaques

I believe Gary made it absolutely clear about 3 weeks ago that
sponsors were being solicited for 2001.
When they filled up, they were gone.

Therefore, complaints are a waste of time. But additional Ps can only
enhance our contest.

Before committing yourselves to a DX P, please be aware the cost for
those will be $53.00, the extra being  for first class postage. Using
FedEx or UPS is not an option, as they have 11 different custom forms
which must be filled out, vs the 1 for the US Snail, + the cost is
about the same. 

I do not believe either Club should have to subsidize the other, but
that did happen.

The deadline for payment for the P will be 2 weeks following the
contest. For year 2000, several members who stated they would sponsor
a P never sent payment. Thankfully, other members of the SECC stepped
forward and took up most of the slack. However, we did run a deficit
for 2000 of some $121 dollars. If you've signed up to sponsor a P,
please make sure I have the check. If I don't have the payment, the P
is not going to be manufactured. This year's Ps are going out in
record time and I fully anticipate all winners having their Ps no
later than the end of August, and possibly a week or so before that,
depending on when I receive the winner's list.

Lastly, we all owe Creative Designs a big thanks. They did a great
job, and for those of you who won Ps, you know they were packed in
boxes you could have run over with a truck and not have broken the P.
