My apologies to the SECC team for not getting on one for the SSB Sprint. =
Last week, there was no way I was going to do the SSB Sprint as I am =
planning to do the CW Sprint and ARRL DX contest pretty hard. After =
doing the NAQP CW and SSB and playing around in the 160 test, its =
getting tough to schedule radio time without some real con$$ions.

Everyone has a contest story and I wish more folks would take time to =
include theirs in every contest write-up. Both of my kids went to a =
skating party and came back with an invitation to go to my brother in =
laws to play with his kids Saturday night. The wife had plans to attend =
an out of town Shakespeare
convention and wouldn't get home till 10:30 (READ After the contest). =
Since she was leaving at 4 PM=20
(READ Before the contest) I was suddenly free to do the contest as I =
get all the culture I need working 75 M SSB as a contestor. I turned =
the radio stuff on 30 minutes before the contest and waited for my =
brother in law to get home so I could drop the kids off. I got back =
home and in the shack 3 minutes before the contest. I thought I had an =
extra minute and was setting the time on the computer on WWV when the =
contest started.

I immediately hustled to 20 meters and started working em. An =
interesting note for you guys planning to do CW..20 meters was =
productive all thru the contest. I went back to 20 at the end of the =
3rd hour
and picked up 3 new mults KP4, WY and UT.

Ended up working a couple of SECC folks and having a pretty good time. =
I'm still trying to figure out how I didn't break 300 Q's as I had 180 =
or so with 2 hours left. I kept going back to 20 meters as I needed a =
bunch of western mults. The rate was not good on 20 as I had worked the =
band out.

Bottom line 80 Meters 66 =20
                   40 Meters 93
                   20 Meters 134 =20
                  Mults 49

                 Score 14,257

And I was off radio before wife got home.

Hope to CU CW Sprint

Greg K4NO
