Hello everyone:

An e-mail from Jeff, KU8E, reminded me earlier today that we often need
an extra reminder about contests that don't fall on a weekend. So, be
reminded as follows for this week:

1. The annual RAC Canada Day Contest is July 1. This is their
independence day. It is on CW and SSB 160 through 2 M. Everyone works
everyone else in any country including your own. Points are higher for
contacts with Canada as you might expect. Multipliers are Canadian
provinces and territories. Suggested frequencies: CW 25 khz from lower
band edge (suggested on the half hour). SSB: 1850, 3775, 7075, 7225,
14175, 21250, 28500.

Exchange is RST plus serial number from 001 except Canadians who send
Province or Territory.

I think both CT and NA cover this contest. Information can be found on
the WA7BNM This Week Calendar page. The contest runs the full 24-hour
period of July 1 UTC. Don't overlook 6 meters as there is often a lot
of activity there if the band opens to Canada.

On July 4 in the evening, there is a 4-hour QRP contest sponsored by the
Michigan QRP Club. 2300 UTC July 4 to 0300 UTC July 5. 7 to 11 PM EDT.
160 through 6 M excepting WARC bands. Exchange: RST, SPC, and Mi-QRP
membership number or power output for non-members. Activity will center
around the usual QRP frequencies of 3560, 7040, 14060, 21060, and 28060.
Info can be found from the SM3CER contest site. Files are available for
the NA logging program.

Hope everyone has a good week.

73,

John, K4BAI.
