Upcoming Contests:

Tonight local time. I sent out a posting about the Locust QSO Party and
the NAQCC January Sprint earlier today. NAQCC is 0130 to 0330 UTC 80,
40 and 20 QRP CW. Exchange: RST, SPC, NAQCC# or power. Double score
for hand key. 1 1/2 score for bug. LQP is 0300 to 0349Z, 40 CW.
Maximum power 100 watts or less depending on antenna used. 7050 plus or
minus. Exchange: Name, SPC. No dupes. Bonus points for QSO with
K6VVA. Nice prizes.

This weekend, we have, inter alia:

1. UK DX RTTY Contest. 80-10M RTTY. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. Exchange RST
+ UK area or serial #.

2. Hungarian DX Contest. 160-10M CW/SSB. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun.
Exchange RS(T) + 2 letter HA county ID or HADXC member no. Send: RST +
serial #. Work everyone. Extra points for HA/HG stations.

3. North American QSO Party, SSB. 160-10M SSB. 18Z Sat to 06Z Sun.
Maximum 10 hours. 100 watts maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC. Non
NA DX stations need send only name, but your logging program may want
you to enter "DX."

4. ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes. 6M and up. 19Z Sat to 04Z Mon.
Exchange: 4 character grid square. I think there is a club aggregate
score competition in this one.

5. Flying Pigs QRP Club, Run for the Bacon. 160-10M CW. 01-03Z Mon
(Sun night local). 5 W maximum power. Exchange: RST + SPC + FP # or
power.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and a lot of QSOs. I'll hope to work
you in NAQP SSB (part time), Hungarian DX (very part time), ARRL VHF if
6M QSOs are possible, and FP RFTB. 73, John, K4BAI.
