Note that this FOC event is open to all, not just members like the FOC 
Marathon.  A lot of new members come to the attention of the present 
members by participating in the BWQPs.  I will be out of town at the 
start, but hope to be QRV for the last several hours.  Please join in as 
you are able.  73, John, K4BAI.

Remember that this Saturday, it's the Bill Windle QSO Party. Details follow.

If you are so inclined as to report your activity, remember that the member
and non-member station on each continent with the highest QSO total for 
the 24
hour period will receive a handsome certificate.

As an FOC member, send CQBW de (your call). There will be plenty of stations
eager to work you!
You are encouraged to operate on any and all bands, except the WARC bands.
Call CQ BW or answer someone calling a CQ. The minimum exchange is RST, 
name,
and FOC number (non-members will only send RST and name). However, feel free
to engage in longer QSOs if you so desire. Operate anywhere in the CW
portion of the bands, but most generally concentrate on the 015 to 040 
segment of
the bands. On Top Band, please avoid the DX window.
Non-members simply send RST and name.
After the event, if you would like to report your activity to be included in
the write-up in the News Sheet and FOCUS, email your total number of QSOs
and FOC member QSOs (100/85) to me at _kz5d at aol.com_ (mailto:kz5d at aol.com)
There will also be achievement certificates awarded to one member and 
non-member
station on each continent that reports the highest number of QSOs during the
event.
Talk it up. Get all your FOC friends on the air. And let’s encourage
non-members to jump in, too. It’s a good way to evaluate prospective 
candidates for
nomination.
