[SECC] Resignation of N4GG from SECC Secretary position

Dear SECC members,

It with disappointment that I must advise that Hal N4GG, has tendered his resignation as Secretary of the club. Hal has done a superb job with the position and has been a very reliable resource to yours truly. Thanks Hal for your valuable contributions to the club and has advised that he will continue to submit and support the club.

The Club bylaws set out a process to be followed for such an event. The applicable provision is as follows:

Sec 3. Vacancies occurring between elections shall be filled by special elections as soon as possible following the withdrawal or resignation of any officer. The remaining officers shall conduct the special election. Voting shall be by any form of communication, including e-mail. Election to the vacant office shall be by a majority of the members voting.
Fred, WW4LL who has served this club previously, has stepped forward and is willing to assume the Secretary job, if so elected. I'm confident that Fred can step right in and the transition will be seamless. Nevertheless, I would like to open the floor for additional nominations from the membership effective immediately. In order to minimize disruption to this key position- time is of the essence - I will close the open nominations period @ exactly 6 pm EST June 20, 2010. Please send your nomination directly to me, K1ZZI or K4BAI  or preferably to us all 3 in the same msg.

Subsequent to 6 pm June 20, 2010, I will list all nominations and an electronic vote will be taken. K1ZZI has graciously volunteered to count the votes and votes will be sent to his e mail attention. I intend to close voting on Wednesday June 23 @ exactly 6pm EST and announce results shortly thereafter.
