Mark W4SVO has been hard at work building this project. He will be All Bands in CQWW and busy testing out his new duo band phased array. Check this toy out. Good luck Mark and we wish you a big score!

Subject: 40/80 Meter Phasing System

Hey all, Finally finish today. You can see a lot of work went into this project, I first order all the parts back in the first week in August. It was hard finding the time to do this array. A lot of planning went into it. I always wanted a phased array on 80 meters. So far it seems to work very well. The 39 deg. delay line for 80 is under the 157 degree SW feed line, in the picture. I stacked these on one another. On 40 meters the two verticals are a 1/4 wave apart and fed 90 degs. out of phase. To do this you have to feed each vertical with an 84 deg. line. Then you switch a 71 deg. line in to get the 90 deg phase. I can go NE and SW, plus broadside. On 80 meters the two verticals are an 1/8 wave apart and fed 135 degs. out of phase. To do this you have to feed each vertical with a 157 deg line. Then you switch in a 39 deg. line to get the 135 deg phase. I can also go NE and SW, plus broadside. In order to switch from 40 to 80, it takes three separate relays, one at each vertical, to switch the feedlines (84 and 157 deg.) and one box to switch to either the 40 meter box or the 80 meter box. I switch all of these at the same time. Then you have to have two relays in each box, 40 and 80. These relays give you the NE,SW, and broadside positions for each band. This is a great system for someone that has a small yard and wants to get gain on both 40 and 80. Anyway thanks for all the support. I know I will have a lot of fun using this duo band array. Mark
