For some reason I am reminded of an article in 73 way back when,
concerning a certain 4-lander running what essentially was a rotatable
vertical beam on 80. He loaded up his tower and hung wires sized to be
a director and reflector off of the end of his 20-meter beam, pulled up
to the tower top to get them off the ground, and hung bricks on the
bottom to keep said director and reflector in place. You had to rotate
it slowly, lest the brick's momentum wrap the wires around the tower.
But IT (as the antenna was referred to) was apparently effective enough
to have a similar shocking effect on the 1's and 2's who thought they
owned the path to Europe. I'm not sure if something similar could be
set up for 160 or not.
