Greetings Diddlers:
Another double digit week. Welcome back to relatively newcomers WV4P
and NN5O. Even WD0T poked his head out from the basement!
If you?ve been following the WSJT software development, you may have
heard that a new mode (FT4) is up and running. They are using a new
segment of the bands to stay away from the FT8 group, and on a couple of
bands they are above x.080. That could cause a problem with the
frequency suggestions we?ve been using.
K6UFO/NN7SS suggested moving up to x.084 just so we don?t get into a
frequency conflict. It won?t be a problem on all bands, but it?s just
easier to remember if we use the same bottom limit (160 is the
exception). So let?s move to x.084 and up for a while and see how it
goes. As N3QE also noted, this also keeps us away from the W1AW code
practice sessions that are on 80 meters when we are.
The upcoming weekend is a big QSO Party weekend, and a few have digital
modes. So join us Thursday evening and give those diddles a test in
case you find some RTTY activity from your favorite QP.
Here are the details for our usual Thursday evening (in NA) get together.
Friday, 3 May 2019, 0145Z - 0215Z (Thursday, 2 May 2019 in NA)

-- 2145 - 2215 EDT
-- (others in-between those two)
-- 160: 1805 and up (Last two minutes seem to be popular?)
-- 80/40/20/15 +84 kHz up from the band edge ?-NOTE
-- Same band dupes ok after 1 intervening Q.
-- 1 kHz QSY rule, otherwise standard Sprint rules
-- Mults per band.
