[SEDXC] DX card checking at the Lawrenceville hamfest

Hi DX'ers

The Nov 4-5 hamfest at the Gwinnett Fairgrounds provides an opportunity
to have your DX  cards checked. The new rules for card checkers makes
it complicated.

This club's choice as checker, N4NX, is off DXpeditioning and will miss
the hamfest. The other choice, WB4MOG, lives in Statesboro, is under
the weather, and not sure if he can make the hamfest. So, in case he
can't make it, we will be able to check DX cards anyway, under the
following conditions.

If you want DX cards checked, come to the ARRL booth and leave them
with me, Frank Butler, or anyone else manning the booth. The Asst SM
for South Ga, W4IS, will collect cards to be checked and take them to
WB4MOG for checking, and Marshall will Fed-x the cards back to the
DX'er at no additional charge.

The cards must be accompanied by a correctly completed application and
the proper amount of cash as dictated by the DXCC desk at ARRL HQ. 

It is unfortunate that the new rules for field checking of DX cards is
so cumbersome. Hopefully the ARRL board will soon make modifications so
that we can accredit more card checkers and make your life a bit
easier.

Whether you have cards to check or not, hopefully you will come to the
hamfest, stop by the booth, and say hey!
