Hello all: Thanks for all the QSOs in CQ 160. W4AN, K3LR, W8JI and I
operated all but the last 7 minutes of the 42 hour contest. We made no
QSOs the last hour.

Results so far: 1379 QSOs x 57 + 60 (117) = 572, 013. K2TOP claimed
score is 577,800 (1161 x 59 + 61).

We worked 210 Europeans, but only 57 the first night. So the second
night was much better. 9 JAs, 3 the first night. All were between 1225
and 1243Z except for JA1CGM who came in from the SW at 1055Z on the
second morning. All 9 JAs answered our CQs. We heard none of them
running. Total Asia: 13. Pacific: 9. Africa: 4. South America:
6.

By countries: G 26; OM 8; YU 8, EA 2; DL 39; S5 10; PA 5; F 7; OH 5; SP
8; GW 2; OK 21; LY 5; SM 6; GM 2; UA2 3; HA 7; ON 5; I 5: OZ 2; 9A 6; UR
3; GI 2; UA1/6 6; HB9 3; LZ 2; OE 2; YL 2; EU 2; 5B 2; KH6 4; ZL 2; VK
2; YV 3; V3 2; VP5 2; KL7 3. One QSO each: LA, IT9, 4X, ZC4, OY, SV,
YO, EA9, LX, V7, CT3, ZS, EA8, EA9, FM, ZF, XE, HI, FY, KP2, PY, P4.

We worked all states plus DC. I think DC was the only US section that
we worked only one station in (K3VOA). We missed NS (VE1), VO2, VY2,
VY1, VE8, VY0 (I'm not sure all of those are mults for this contest).

Thanks for the following SECC and SEDXC members for contacts. (Hope I
got it right.) K4IQJ, W4WA (K9AY, op), K4EA, AA4Z, N4PN, AA4NN, K4BG,
K4WI, NE4S, W4NTI, K0DQ, WA4TT, K4PK, N4DU, WA4ILO, N4UK, WP3X/W4.
K4OGG, K4AB, AA4S, AA4LR, K4UEE, W4DMB, W4NU, K4TEA, N4NX, K4PI, N4XMX,
W4NW, W4BTZ, W4YWX, K4DLI, W4GTS and WD4RCO.

Other Ga stations worked: AK4I, N4WD, W1JA, NO9E, W4AX, NX4U, AF4X,
WF9B. Ala stations: K9MUG, W4BXI, KX4X, W4GN, W4AVY, AF4OD, W4DEC,
KE4NY, KC4HCH, K4GW, N4VN. Other SC stations: K4ADI (who was my
classmate in college), N4HIM, WA4AOS, AA4V, K4DLJ, W4GFA, KS4DU, W4BUW,
W4WNT, K4CNW, K8ARY. At least some of these should be prospective
members. I didn't list TN and NC stations since those states seem to
have pretty active clubs of their own, altho the PVRC/NC does not cover
the western part of NC, which our club does.

I heard KA9EKJ, but we managed to miss out on a QSO. Sorry Rodger.

Our best hours for rate were the first three: 105, 108, 116. Obviously
the last hour was the worst with no QSOs. We had only one QSO at the
16Z hour on Saturday. There was a lot of CQing and a lot of listening
in all directions with different antennas and no callers during the
day. I think we could have worked an area that included New England and
VE2/3 over to Wisconsin and west to LA for all of the contest period.
But it is not surprising that there is no real daytime activity in this
contest. From home, I can hardly work Atlanta on 160 during the day.
Maybe it would be more accurate to say that I probably can't work
Atlanta on 160 during the day from home.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I assume we are not putting a team
in the NA Sprint SSB this weekend. There are a number of QSO Parties
and other contest and DX activities this weekend.

73,

John, K4BAI.
