Hi Gary:
QSL MD4K via G3NKC. This was a multi op operation for CQ WPX SSB this
year. I think they also used the same call previously in an IOTA
contest.
MD4K was one of only TWO contacts I was able to make in the British
Isles in the CQ WPX SSB contest this year on 15 meters from NQ4I. They
were weak and were immediately followed by an even weaker G6, I think
maybe G6PZ. Other than that, under the weird conditions we had for that
contest, I heard no stations from the British Isles. None from
Ireland. And very few from Western Europe. But a lot of Scandinavians,
Southern, Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, Ukraine, and toward the end
of the contest Central Europe. Even in those areas of Europe, however,
I didn't hear the large numbers of weak stations that are usually able
to be heard....just mostly the big stations. Very few QRP or other weak
signal stations made it across the pond at all during that contest.
Hope conditions will be better for the CW weekend in May.
73,
John, K4BAI.
