My first contact with Bruce was in 1960 in the old SSBARA WAS SSB Contest.
I have his card as I was his first Mississippi QSO on SSB.  We both were
fairly new to SSB (as were most hams).

The SSBARA WAS Contest became the CQ SSB Contest then the WPX SSB Contest.
I remember working the winners CN8MM Eva, and Bill W2SKE
(the SSBARA member winner).  Eva was later PY2PE.  Bill (of K2GL fame) later
became CBS News Chief.

Bruce was a fine company then amd is probably hob nobbing with great Dxers
in heaven today!
