[SEDXC] Question concerning recent band change.

Hello Dan,

Yea, but what about the low end?

I was hoping the window would get W I D E R . . . .
You put two DX stations in the window, and there is no room for anyone else.

I notice many DXers calling CQ between 3.600 and 3.800 lately, with good response from other countries.
I did not have a source for what Regions could work where, so that is why I asked the question.

I guess I am going to start doing the same and hopefully force the window to get wider.

Thanks again,
Keith, K4KAL

Hi Keith:

Bill forwarded your message over to me.

The ARRL Band Plan committee looked at several possible scenarios as I understand it but in the end decided to leave the DX Window as is. While it still requires General class operators to work split for that area, it also is an area where most DX stations have privileges on phone. In some countries DX stations can not operate too much lower in the band and in Region 1 I believe 3800 is the highest end of that band.

Thanks and 73

Subject: Question concerning recent band change.

Hello Bill,

I have observed since the recent band changes that you can find DX on 40 meters at night on the frequencies of 7.125 to 7.200.
Yet, on the 80 Meter Band. The DX is still stuck in the area of 3.790 to 3.800.

Is there any efforts on the way from any organization to try and move the DX Window on 80 meters to something that is more reasonable.

Thanks,
Keith LaBorde, K4KAL
