Dear all,

Lee (Buford L. Foster, born 1920) was a role model for K4TEA and I in the
late 1950's. I remember going over to Lees's QTH in SW Atlanta where Ken and
I lived as teenagers. We were amazed at his Collins S-line and 4 el Telrex
monobander on 20 meters.

Lee went to work for Delta Airlines in 1945 when he left the Army Air Corps
after flying in the South Pacific. He was a great soldier and pilot as he
retired from Delta in 1981 with something like #3 in seniority. He has been
a world class dx-er and a great American.

Lee & Buck Joyner (W4TO, SK about 1970) were two of the original SEDXC
founding members in 1958. Once a ham told W4TO he was "wide" on AM. Buck
replied "I'm not wide, I'm just loud!!".

73,

John, W4NU
(K4JAG 1959 to 1998)

I recently visited my long time friend Lee Foster, K4RPK. As many of you
know, Lee is an original member of the SEDXC, a world class DXer, a retired
Delta Captain, and a WWII pilot. Lee has had some health issues in recent
years. Due this and his present location in a neighborhood with antenna
restrictions, he has decided to leave this wonderful hobby after many years
of enjoying Ham Radio and will not be renewing his Amateur license.

Lee has 2 transceivers he wants to sell locally at a reasonable price, pick
only at his QTH in Roswell, GA. He will not ship the radios. They are
being sold "as-is". Lee is asking that you contact me. I would appreciate
you contacting me first so as not to bother Lee and his wife with phone
calls and questions. The settlement of purchase price will be cash given to
Lee at the time of picking up the radio at his residence in Roswell. Lee
does not have any other equipment or antennas for sale, just the 2 Ten Tec
transceivers.

1). Ten Tec OMNI V, model 562; serial number 41A10159. It comes with the
matching Ten Tec power supply, box and a Shure microphone. The radio works
good and the appearance is good to very good. Lee used this radio as his
main transceiver. He is asking $550.

2). Ten Tec Paragon, model 585, serial number 585-00358. It comes with the
manual, matching power supply, and I believe he has the box also. No
microphone. The radio's working condition is unknown, but I would guess it
is OK, just needs to be operated. The appearance is good. Lee is asking
$400.

If you are interested, please send me an email and I will call you back.
Thank you very much.
