And, do not tack on any abbreviations in parens in that line either...  
Just the official spelling of your club...
A real bad example are the "X"ARC club abbreviations.
No matter what "X" is there are scores of possible citys or clubs starting with that letter.
(Except "X" that is)
For GQP I run an "alias" check of 4 possible spellings of club names, just based on what I see in the logs.  After failing that check the home club may miss some points.
A club ID system might be appropriate for enumeration in ADIF.  
It seems a bit out of line for an add to Cabrillo.
And, I am seeing a lot of Cabrillo 3 logs now.

One of the most frustrating activities with checking contest logs has to
do with club names.  To illustrate this - here are some club names that
might all be from the same club:

This will probably take about 30 mintues to fix.

One idea I have been toying with is somehow assigning a numeric ID for
any club that wants one and having them use that.  At least that way,
the spelling will mostly be the same.

In the mean time - it would reall help if people could try to come up
with a standard way to enter a club name - and try to get their members
to follow it.  That would save the poor log checker a LOT of time.

The risk is that some versions of the club name will not be recognized
and part of your club score won't count.
