These folks have tons of questions about how to DX.
One of the most common ones is:
How do I get a QSL card from (e.g) Columbia? Some have sent green
stamps, IRCs,
Bolivian stamps, etc. I keep trying to tell them - use the bureau for
the easier
ones (unless of course you really really want that particular card)
because you'll
work many Columbians before you get 100 countries in all likelihood, and
if you don't
then you can start sending all the bribes to get that card.

By far,I believe the best way get cards from Colombia, or any South American
country, is to work the ones with managers. There's some good managers in
Spain who do the managing choirs for many stations throughout SA. If no manager
is available, then stamps is the next best thing. (Hope they didn't send a
Bolivian stamp to Colombia) Fewer stations are now accepting IRCs or using the
bureau. Besides, they probably don't want to wait years for bureau cards and
DXCC.
Sending $ to SA is not a good idea. Sending bribes is not a good idea either.
These guys need to be put out of business. Giving in to them only makes it more
difficult for others to receive a card. Feed a monster and ....

And then the next question I get is (see above), "How do I know what's
rare and what isn't?"

For anyone starting out, it shouldn't be that important. If you don't have it,
then you need to work it.

I refer them to the TOP 100 list but you got to admit,
there are some
pretty nice ones between 100 and 200, right?

The Top 100 List should be sufficient. Works for me.
