I have been using a particular logging program since DOS was king. Over the
last few years the release of new features has come to a halt and support
seems to be dwindling. The only reasons that I have not changed to a
different logging program is that I haven't found a program that has a set
of features that are compelling enough to cause me to change and learn a new
application and to a certain degree resistance to change.
Over the years my station has become more complex which has me looking for
way to automate more of the functions. Contesting aside, it seems like to
logical place to drive this automation from is the logging program as it is
the one application that interfaces to most of the equipment in my station.
My current logging program does support:
* Up to two radios and I use this feature to select which radio the
logging application polls from freq., mode etc.
* Interface to my Rotor
* Interface to Win-Key (Although it does not work well so I use a
separate application)
What I really need (want) is for the logging application to provide some
logic (possibly through a parallel port) as to which radio is selected. I
would use this logic to determine which radio is connected to the antenna. I
would also like some logic from the logging program to use to select the
proper antenna. This logic could be in a BCD or decimal format and should
user configurable.
So, with all that said does anyone know of a logging program that supports
these features? I have not been able to find one. If not please let me know
what logging program that you are using as there may be merit in changing.
