[SEDXC] Comm port problems

Good morning all. I need some help. I've been using N3FJP logging sw in the
stand alone mode. Now that I have my K3, I tried to connect the two. I have
the 232 port on the K3 connected to the laptop's usb port. The pc selected
comm7. I made sure the baud rate, data bits, parity and stop bits were the
same on the pc and sw. Everything worked fine.

However, later when I turned the K3 on again, I got comm port not found
messages, even though all the settings for the pc and sw were the same. I
only got it working again when I manually selected another comm port. I
experienced the exact same thing with HRD. Both softwares either work or
don't work, but 4 times in a row, after turning off the K3/laptop, when I
turn them on again, the comm port not found error comes up, even though on
the sw and pc, they show they match.

Because it happens with either software product, I think it must be a laptop
problem. The laptop is a one year old Winbook TL35 and there don't seem to
be any updates out there.

Any ideas?
