[SEDXC] SEDXC Digest, Vol 132, Issue 12

Not that it matters, but I don't think trademarking a phrase used earlier
without assuming the brand association is actually enforceable.

DXpedition is a commonly used generic term, and "DXpedition of the year" was
used by the ARRL and other groups and clubs for years.

Hamvention is a unique name that was never used prior to the Dayton group,
so it is a lot different. It was not previously used and is associated with
the Dayton group.

Be advised that the phrase "DXpedition of the Year" is a registered trade
mark of the SouthWest Ohio DX Association. They have been the official
awarding organization for many, many years. They own that trademark, like
Dayton Amateur Radio Association owns "HamVention"

Not sure if anyone is interested but the ballot for DXpeditions of the year
are posted. You get 2 choices but there were some many good ones I would
hope for 3.

I looked through the list earlier and agree it's tough this year. A lot of
excellent dxpeditions.

Quite a few with SEDXC participants also.
