I have no problem with operating one's *home station* remotely for
DXCC credit. I do have a problem with renting a rig in New England
to work 7O in the morning and then renting a rig in Western Washington
to work P5 in the evening.

Given the ability to "borrow" a station anywhere in the "Lower 48" at
any time, it's probably less expensive (and a lot less work) to reach
the top of the Honor Roll or a DXCC Challenge score of 3000+ by renting
existing super stations in advantaged locations than by building an
effective station and spending the seat time necessary to do it the
old way. If this is the new standard, why not accept SMS "QSOs" with
the necessary countries and dispense with amateur stations completely?
