This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday. Three separate one hour
mini tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, and 0300Z (Thursday UTC). 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 028 to 038 kHz on each
band, lower on 160M.
2. 80M QRP Fox Hunt. Thursday night local date. 0200-0330Z Friday.
Two QRP Foxes (K4AXF, JIM, VA and N0SM, STEVE, IA) will be hiding
between 3550 and 3570 kHz. Work only the two foxes. Maximum power 5W.
Do not spot the foxes' frequencies. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power.
3. NCCC RTTY NA Sprint Practice. Thursday night local date.
0145Z-0215Z. 80, 40, 20, 160M RTTY. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 080 kHz and up
from 1805 kHz. Same band dupes permitted after one intervening QSO.
4. NCCC NS CW Sprint Ladder. Thursday night local date. 0230-0259Z.
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 040 kHz and 1815 kHz. No same
band dupes permitted.
5. YL ISSB QSO Party. 48 hours of Sat and Sun UTC. All bands, SSB.
Exchange: RS + Name + SPC + YLISSB# (if you have one).
6. LZ (Bulgaria) Open Contest. 0000-0400Z Saturday (Friday night local
date). 80, 40M CW. Exchange: 3 digit serial # and 3 digit serial #
received from your last QSO. (Start off with the number 001000, since
you will not yet have received a serial #.) Dupes OK after 30 minutes
from the most recent QSO with that station.
7. Hungarian (HA) DX Contest. 160-10M CW/SSB. Exchange: RS(T) +
serial # or HA two letter county abbreviation. Work everyone.
8. NCJ North American QSO Party, SSB. 18Z Sat to 06Z Sun. 160-10M
SSB. Single ops work only 10 hours with minimum 30 minutes off times.
100W maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC (for NA and Hawaii). Only
Name for stations outside NA and Hawaii. Teams may be registered for
from two to five members. There is no requirement to be a member of a
club or to live in any geographical area. I have five members for a
SECC team, but would like to have more teams. If you can participate,
please e-mail me at once. I will register the team(s) Friday night and
will be unlikely to check back on e-mail for changes after 1330Z
Saturday. WW4LL will host a four operator M/2 team. Look for WW4LL to
be QRV on two open bands at any given time. For ACG teams, contact
KY4F. For GCG teams, contact N4PN.
9. Flying Pigs QRP Club January Run for the Bacon. 0200-0400Z Monday
(Sunday night local date). 160-10M CW. Maximum power 5W. Exchange:
RST + SPC + FP# or power.
10. 40M QRP Fox Hunt. Same as 80M fox hunt mentioned above except the
frequency range is 7030 to 7050 kHz and the two foxes are AB7R, GREG, WA
and KV2X, TOM, NY.
11. Locust QSO Party. To celebrate the birthday of the "Locust" K6VVA.
0200-0230Z on 40M and 0230-0300Z on 80M CW Wednesday (Tuesday night
local date). Exchange: Name + SPC Nice prizes. Check rules for power
limits which vary depending on your antenna.
12. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests every Wednesday. See item #1 above.
