There seems there is a lot of information floating around. To set the record straight DXAC did make recommendations on remote operations and the main one was to set a limit on milage to a outside remote. The decision was to use rule 9 so any remote withing the same entity is OK.
The new DXAC Chairman asked for our latest input as there was to be a phone teleconference on this matter in late July. There never was any discussion planned for the July Board Meeting. There has been no feedback on this so it still may happen.
First, if you can remote your home station from anywhere all QSOs count as your home station. Dx Stations can remote DX locations and all QSOs count for the remote location. There is no credit for the location doing the remote.
The bone of contention is about using remote stations outside the usual propagation of your area. If you use a West Coast remote and work say China on 17 at this time it counts for your DXCC. Even if there are no conditions to China from say Metro Atlanta on 17. The DXAC wanted to apply a milage limit on using remotes for DXCC credit. All DXAC members wanted some type of limit and my 500 miles was the most liberal.
Until I am told different, DXAC has no additional input to the remote decision. The best bet is write or send an e-mail to any of the following with your views:
Doug, SE Division Direcor K4AC at arrl.org
David, K5UZ Delta Division Director K5UZ at arrl.org
Board Liaison with DXAC
Dave Patton, NN1N ARRL Media and Public Relations Manager nn1n at arrl.org
Who is the PSC Manager at ARRL HQ.
