This Week's Contests:

1. QRP Fox Hunt. Thursday night, local date, 0100-0230Z Friday. 5W
maximum power. Two QRP Foxes will be calling between 14050 and 14070
kHz. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Work only the two foxes and do
not spot the foxes' frequencies. The two foxes this week are N0UR, Jim,
MN and K4BAI, John, GA. From our area, you should have a good chance at
N0UR and unless you are within 40 miles of me, you may not have a good
shot at me. But, I will continue to call for the full 90 minute period.
Both of us will start out split, probably listening up, and will go
simplex when the pileup has died down.

2. NCCC RTTY Sprint. 0145-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W maximum power. Multipliers count per
band. Exchange: both calls, QSO#, Name + SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Look around 080 kHz and up from 1805 kHz on 160M.

3. NCCC NS Sprint Ladder. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local
date). 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M cw. 100w maximum power. Mults count per
band. Exchange: both calls, QSO#, Name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Look around 040 kHz and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.

4. Hawaii QSO Party. 0400Z Sat (Friday night local date) to 0400Z Mon
(Sun night local date). 160-10M, CW, Phone, Digital. Exchange: RS(T)
plus Hawaii area.

5. YO (Romania) DX HF Contest. 80-10M CW, SSB. Exchange: RS(T) +
serial # or YO county abbreviation. Work everyone.

6. SCC RTTY Championship. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange: RST + 4 digit year
first licensed. Work everyone.

7. W/VE Islands QSO Party. 12Z Sat to 03Z Sun. 160-6M CW, Phone,
Digital. Exchange: RS(T) + ISI/CISA designation. Work only US/VE
Island Stations. My experience has been that there are very few US/VE
island stations QRV in this contest and, to the extent there are any,
they are on SSB.

8. Kansas QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 02Z Sun; 14Z to 20Z Sun. 80-6M CW,
SSB, Digital. Exchange: RS(T) + S/P/DX or KS county. Bonus points for
one QSO with KS0KS. You can try to spell KANSAS, SUNFLOWER, or BISON
with the letters of the approved one-by-one stations you work. KS0KS
will act as a wildcard in this effort.

9. Ohio QSO Party. 16Z Sat to 04Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB, Exchange: RST
+ S/P/DX or OH county abbreviation.

10. CVA (Brazil) DX Contest, SSB. 21Z Sat to 21Z Sun. 80-10M SSB.
Exchange: We send RS + DX, YL, QRP, or TEEN and Brazil station send RS
plus their UF (like county) or QRP, YL, TEEN, HQ, CVA, MIL, RB, FD.
You'll need to read the rules for explanation of the abbreviations. You
may work everyone, but most QSOs seem to be with South American stations.

11. 50 MHz Fall Sprint. 2300 Sat to 0300Z Sun. 6 meter any mode.
Exchange: 4-character grid square.

12. South African Amateur Radio League HF CW Contest. 80-20M CW.
1300-1630Z Sunday. Exchange: RST + serial #. Work only ZR or ZS stations.

13. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday. 0230-0259Z Wednesday UTC date. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC. No
QSY rule. Mults count per band. Look around 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800,
and 1875 kHz.

14. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday. Three separate
one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date). Exchange:
Name + CWOps# or SPC. 160-10M CW. Look around 028 to 045 kHz on most
bands and lower on 160M.

Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and makes a lot of QSOs. 73,
John, K4BAI.
