This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday local date. Three
separate one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 028 to 045
kHz on the five higher bands and about 1815-1830 on 160M.
2. QRP Fox Hunt 80M. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
Two QRP foxes will be hiding between 3550 and 3570 kHz CW. Exchange:
RST, SPC, Name, Power. Maximum power 5W. Work only the two foxes and
do not spot their frequencies.
3. NCCC RTTY Sprint. 0145-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
100W maximum power. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. Exchange: both calls,
#, name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO.
4. NCCC NS Sprint. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local date). 100W
maximum power. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. Exchange: both calls, #,
name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. No same band dupes allowed.
5. Radio Amateurs of Canada Winter Contest. 0000Z to 2359Z Saturday.
Starts Friday night our time. 160-2M CW, Phone. Exchange: RST +
serial # or VE province/territory. Work everyone. This can be a lot of
fun and good activity, particularly on CW.
6. Stew Perry Top Band Distance Challenge. 1500Z Sat to 1500Z Sunday.
14 hours maximum operating time. 160M CW. Exchange: four-character
grid square.
7. QRP ARCI New Year's Sprint. 1500Z to 1800Z Monday, New Year's Day.
80-10M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + ARCI# or power. Anyone at any
power can participate as there are power multipliers. Look around 7040,
14060, 21060, 28060 kHz.
8. Adventure Radio Society Spartan Sprint. 0200-0400Z Tuesday (Monday
night local). 5W maximum power. 80-10M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC +
power. Look around 14060, 7030/7040, 3560 kHz.
9. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night local date. 0230-0259Z Wednesday.
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC.
Mults count per band. Good place to practice before NAQP SSB in
January. Look around 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800, and 1875 kHz.
10. CWTs. See #1 above.
