[SEDXC] Sad Deal

This is part of history soon to be gone...
I bought a lot of "stuff" over the 26 years I was in the alarm business.
Also, Jim Zerkell, WA4APD, who helped my all those years, got killed in 
four-wheel accident
while on vacation in Costa Rica a few years back.
I also operated with Tommy at his place twice on field day...
Lots of good times..

I hate to say…or maybe better to say…I only visited ACKs once…since I was in 
Macon and had no car.

started by Everett Atkerson (W4ECI) in Birmingham in the 1940's. His son 
Tommy (W4RRW) opened up a store on Lucky St. in Atlanta in the late 1950's. 
The grandson (Steve) took over the business when Tommy passed away in August 
of 1998. Steve was not a ham.

W4ECI was one of the QSL managers for Gus Browning, W4BPD, and and a big 
DXer. He had a big Telrex 20 meter monobander on a tower on a mountain in
