This is part of history soon to be gone...
I bought a lot of "stuff" over the 26 years I was in the alarm business.
Also, Jim Zerkell, WA4APD, who helped my all those years, got killed in
four-wheel accident
while on vacation in Costa Rica a few years back.
I also operated with Tommy at his place twice on field day...
Lots of good times..

I hate to say…or maybe better to say…I only visited ACKs once…since I was in
Macon and had no car.
That walk was a long one…..
A part of history gone…

I have been doing business with Ack Radio since around 1970... It was
started by Everett Atkerson (W4ECI) in Birmingham in the 1940's. His son
Tommy (W4RRW) opened up a store on Lucky St. in Atlanta in the late 1950's.
The grandson (Steve) took over the business when Tommy passed away in August
of 1998. Steve was not a ham.
W4ECI was one of the QSL managers for Gus Browning, W4BPD, and and a big
DXer. He had a big Telrex 20 meter monobander on a tower on a mountain in
Birmingham, AL.

ACK Radio Supply Company of Georgia will be closing its doors permanently on
Friday, July 20th.
Until that time, all inventory is being offered at 50% off with $100
purchase. It's a great time for deals!
All of us at ACK, and all of the family who owned it since it was founded,
would like to express sincere appreciation for your patronage over the past
seven decades.
Unfortunately, being a brick and mortar electronic supplier, in the world of
on-line sales, where competition is fierce, and with compeditors such as
Amazon or eBay, this is no longer a profitable business venture.
Again, we thank you for your loyalty and hope you will drop by for some
great discounts.
50% Off! - On all purchases over $100.
