Phillip,
I had the same problem when I upgraded from the FluidMotion controller to the newer controller. After blowing several chips I discovered that I had a wire in the wrong location on the control cable that the FluidMotion was able to manage but that blew the TTL chips. One suggestion is to triple check your wiring pinouts on the control cable.

Phillip,
The best place, in my opinion, to get help with SteppIR issues is over on the groups.io group.
That said, over there is a list of troubleshooting steps which include checking SteppIR motor resistances and voltages. Finally you’ll need to replace the driver chip. I’ve had to replace driver chips several times and the newer controllers use sockets for these chips. Chips are available for sale at Mouser and perhaps other sources.
Good luck.
