1. Tonight. Thursday night. QRP Fox Hunt End of Season Extravaganza.
From 0100 to 0230Z Fri all the foxes from this season can call between
7030 and 7050 kHz and between 3550 and 3570 kHz. Anyone can work them.
Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. You can report your results to the
QRP Fox Hunt reflector. Maximum power 5W. Do spot the foxes' frequencies.
2. NCCC RTTY Sprint. 0145-0215Z Friday (Thursday night local date).
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W maximum power. Exchange: both calls,
#, name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO. Look around 080-083 kHz and up from 1805 kHz on 160M.
3. NCCC NS Sprint. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local date). 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. Exchange: both calls, #, name,
SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. No same band dupes allowed. Look around
040-045 kHz and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
4. RSGB Hope QSO Party, SSB. Friday. 1420-1600Z. 80-10M SSB. At
this hour that means 20M with only a faint hope of 15M. Exchange: RS +
QSO#.
5. Holyland DX Contest. 2100Z Friday to 2100Z Sat. 160-10M CW, SSB,
Dig. Exchange: RST + serial # or Israel area.
6. REP (Portugal) Sprint World Amateur Radio Day. 24 hours of Saturday
UTC. 80M and up (No WARC bands). CW, Ph, Dig. Exchange: RS(T) + QSO
+ Location Code for 6M and up. Work everyone.
7. Worked All Provinces of China DX Contest. 0600Z Sat to 0559Z Sun.
80-10M CW, SSB. Power limit: 1000W. Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or two
character Chinese province abbreviation. Work everyone.
8. YU (Serbia) DX Contest. 0700Z Sat to 0659Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or YU county. Work everyone.
9. QRP to the Field. 0800-1800Z Sat. 80-15M CW, SSB. max power 5W
CW, 10W SSB. Exchange: RST + SPC + Name/SOTA if you are on a summit.
10. CQ MM DX Contest. 0900Z Sat to 2359Z Sun. 80-10M CW. Exchange:
RST + continent abbreviation + /M for CWJF members, + /Q for QRP
stations. + /Y for YL ops. = /C for clubs or groups. Work everyone.
This has become a very popular contest.
11. SAMOVAR Contest. 1500-1959Z Sat. 0500-0959Z Sun. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Samovar zone # and QSO #. We are in Samovar zone 7 (there
are only 7 Samovar zones). So your first exchange would be 7001. etc.
The call suggested is : " CQ SAM." You may work each station on each
band and in each of the two time segments. But serial numbers are
continuous and do not start over for the second segment.
12. Michigan QSO Party. 1600Z Sat to 0600Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB. No
mobile categories this year. Exchange: RS(T) + S/P/DX or MI county.
Work only MI stations.
13. Ontario QSO Party. 1800Z Sat to 0500Z Sun. 1200-1800Z Sun. 160-2M
CW, Ph. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or ON county.
14. ARRL Rookie Round Up. SSB. 1800-2359Z Sun. 80-10M SSB. 100W
power limit. Exchange: Name + 2 letter year first licensed + S/P/SE
area or "DX." Non Rookies may work for credit only stations licensed in
2018, 2019, and 2020. Rookie may work anybody for credit.
15. Flying Pigs QRP Club April Run for the Bacon Contest. 1900-2400Z
Sunday. 5W max power. Exchange: RST + SPC + FP# or power. 160-10M CW.
16. Straight Key Century Club Week Day Sprint. 0000-0200Z Wed (Tuesday
night local date). Use a mechanical key. 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST +
SPC + Name + SKCC# or "NONE."
17. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night. 0230-0259Z Wed. 15, 20, 40, 80,
160M SSB. 100W max power. Exchange: Name + SPC. You can use your
NAQP SSB contest module. Look around 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800, and 1875
kHz.
18. RSGB Hope QSO Party, SSB. 1130-1300Z Tuesday. 80-10M SSB.
Exchange: RS + serial #. Likely only 20M possible for us to use and
signals will likely be weak from Europe.
19. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday local date. Three
separate one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900, 0300Z (Thursday UTC date).
160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 025 to 050
kHz on the higher bands and around 1825 on 160M.
20. 432 mHz Spring Sprint. 1900-2300 local time Wednesday. 432 mHz
any mode. Exhange: 4 character grid square.
Both 10 and 6M have been open with Es skip this week. A lot of fun is
being had there. Most activity on 6M seems to be on FT8, but when you
hear beacons, give a CQ call on CW or SSB and you may stir up some
activity on the traditional modes. Of course, the beacons are good
indications of propagation on 10M also.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend. Looking ahead: April 25 and
26 will be the Florida QSO Party, one of the big ones. Again, no
mobiles this year. There are spelling Bees, etc. Check the web page.
KU8E and I will be sharing remotely the N4BP station with Bob and we
will be working CW as N4B, one of the sought after one-by-one calls for
the Spelling Bee. On SSB, it will be N4BP operating.
