I was QRV in this one, but used a keyer and keyboard for keying and
submitted no claimed score. Now, with the help of K4QPL, I can key my
Kenwood rig with a hand key again, so I will be ready to participate
fully in upcoming SKCC events.

KA2KQM 8 5 40 SO LP 1.5 GA
NV4B/R 4 4 16 SO LP Rover 3 AL ACG
This Week's Contests:
1. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday local date. 0145-0215Z Friday.
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. Exchange: both calls, #,
name, SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. Look around 080-082 kHz and up from
1805 kHz. Same band dupes OK after one intervening QSO.
2. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday local date. 0230-0259Z Friday. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. Exchange: both calls, #, name,
SPC. One/one kHz QSY rule. Look around 040-042 kHz and up from 1815
khz. No same band dupes permitted.
3. 10-10 International Spring Contest, RTTY. 24 hours of weekend UTC.
Exchange: Name + 10-10# or "0" + SPC. 10M RTTY only.
4. SP (Poland) RTTY Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY.
Exchange: RST + QSO# or 2 letter SP province. Work everyone.
5. Helvetia (Swiss) Contest. 1300Z Sat to 1259Z Sun. 160-10M CW, SSB,
Dig. 18 hours max operating time for single ops. Exchange: RS(T) +
serial # or 2 letter HB canton. Work everyone.
6. Florida QSO Party. 1600Z Sat to 0150Z Sun. 1200Z to 2159Z Sun.
40-10M CW, Ph. Exchange: RS(T) + S/P/C or FL county. K4BAI and KU8E
will be part of a multi operation from the N4BP QTH singing special
event call N4B. This will be part of a spelling Bee. Also there is a
virtual rover event where fixed stations will be signing the same call
from different counties as if they were mobile. So, pay attention to
the counties and work the same station over again in each county.
The Spelling Bee word is: "LOVEBUGS". There are special recognitions
for Novice/Technician, SWL, YL, Rookie (under 3 years licensed), and
persons under 25. There are also QRP awards.
There sill be a lot of international activity in the Helvetia event this
week, but the big domestic contest will be FQP. A lot of international
ops will be looking for FL stations too. Yes, that's right. No 80M
operation permitted. The suggested frequencies are: 7025-7035;
7230-7240; 14040-14050; 14265-14275; 21040-21050 and 28040-28050.
Obviously these are only suggested center frequencies and would be far
too narrow for the amount of activity to be squeezed in, particularly on
phone.
40M will be the big daytime band from GA. We sometimes can work the far
south FL stations on 20 and even 15. There have been Es openings the
past two weeks on 10M (and 6M), and it might pay to check 10M for those
openings.
7. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday local date. 0230-0259Z Wed. 15, 20, 40,
80, 160M SSB. 100W max power. Exchange: Name + SPC. No QSY rule. You
can use the NAQP SSB module in your contest logging program. Suggested
frequencies are: 21325, 14250, 7175, 3800, and 1875 kHz.
8. RSGB Hope QSO Party, RTTY. 1130-1300Z Wed. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
RST + serial number.
9. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday local date. Three
separate one-hour mini-tests. 160-10M CW. 1300Z, 1900Z, and 0300Z
(Friday UTC date). Exchange: Name + CWOps # or SPC. SECC member
AA5JF, Andy joined us this week and had a very big signal into the N4B
station in FL. Hope more CW operators will join in, whether or not you
are a member. Only reporting is claimed score reports to the 3830 score
reflector.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John,
K4BAI.
