This Week's Contests:
I am going to drop references to the RTTYOps three weekly contest until
some activity occurs. Seems they announced contests, but no one comes.
1. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0145-0215Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 080 to 082 kHz
and up from 1805 kHz. Same band dupes OK after one intervening QSO.
2. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0230-0259Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 039 to 046 QSOs
on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M. No same band dupes
permitted.
3. RSGB Hope QSO Party, CW. 1430Z-1600Z Friday. 80-10M CW. Exchange:
RST + serial #.
4. SMIRK Contest. 48 hours of weekend. 6M CW, Ph. Exchange: 4
character grid square + (optional) SMIRK #. This is the first time I
recall the SMIRK Contest being on the same weekend as the ARRL VHF
Contest. I guess you can start out in the SMIRK Contest and switch to
ARRL VHF at its start time.
5. DRCG World Wide RTTY Contest. 80-10M RTTY. 0000-0759Z Sat;
1600-2350Z Sat; 0800-1559Z Sun. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone. Work everyone.
6. Asia-Pacific Sprint. 1100-1300Z Sat. 20 and 15M SSB. Exchange:
RST + serial #. 6 kHz QSY rule. Work only A-P stations.
7. Straight Key Century Club Weekend Sprint. 1200Z Sat to 2400Z Sun.
160-6M CW. Use a mechanical key. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, SKCC#.
Bonus of five points for each QSO on a "Summer Band." Summer bands are
15 and 10M. (Not sure why 6M isn't a "Summer Band."
8. Portugal Day Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + Serial # or Portuguese District.
9. GACW WWSA CW DX Contest. 1500Z Sat to 1500Z Sun. 80-10M CW.
Exchange: RST + CQ Zone #. Same country QSOs count for zero points,
but you may want to work at least one in each USA zone on each band for
the zone multipliers.
10. ARRL June VHF Contest. 1800Z Sat to 0259Z Mon. 6M and Up. Any
mode. Exchange: 4 character grid square. In attention to FT8, let's
get on the traditional CW and SSB modes for this one. I think there may
be a club aggregate score competition. Be sure to put your club name in
the Cabirllo header. (For SECC, use South East Contest Club.)
11. 4 States QRP Group Second Sunday Sprint. 0000-0200Z Mon (Sunday
night local date). 160-10M CW, SSB. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC + 4S# or
power. Most activity seems to be around 14060, 7122, 7040, and 3564 kHz.
12. World Wide SSB Activity Contest. 0100-0159Z each Tuesday (each
Monday local date). 160-6M SSB. Exchange: RS + OM or YL or Youth or
Youth YL.
13. North American QRP CW Club Milliwatt Sprint. 0030-0230Z Wed
(Tuesday night local date). Maximum power one watt. Exchange: RST,
SPC, NAQCC# or power. Lots of fun. Summer time weather and band
conditions and QRPp!
14. Phone Fray. Every Tuesday night local date. 0230-0259Z Wed. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M SSB. 100W maximum power. Exchange: Name + SPC. You
can use your NAQP SSB contest module. Suggested frequencies: 21325,
14250, 7175, 3800, 1875 kHz.
15. RSGB Hope QSO Party, CW. 1130-1300Z Wed June 17. 80-10M CW.
Exchange: RST + serial #.
16. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. Every Wednesday. Three separate
one-hour mini-tests. 1300Z, 1900Z, 0300Z (Thurs UTC date). 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 025 to 052 kHz on each
band except 1825 or so on 160M.
17. RSGB Hope QSO Party, RTTY. 1300-1430Z Thursday June 18. 80-10M
RTTY. Exchange: RST + serial #.
Hope eveyrone has a good week and weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John,
K4BAI.
