This Week's Contests:

1. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0145-0215Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after
one intervening QSO. Look around 082 kHz and up from 1805 kHz.

2. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday night local date. 0230-0259Z
Friday. 15, 20, 40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY
rule. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. No same band dupes
permitted. Look around 040 to 045 kHz on most bands and up from 1815
kHz on 160M.

3. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 2000-2100Z Friday. 20, 40, 80, 160M
CW. Exchange: Name + SPC. Look around 029 to 042 kHz on the higher
bands and up from 1820 kHz on 160M. You can use your NAQP CW contest
module. You will need to refigure your score to include counting any
countries outside North America as multipliers.

4. VK (Australia) Shires Contest. 24 hours of Sat UTC. 160-10M CW,
SSB. Exchange: RS(T) + CQ Zone or VK shire. Work VJ stations once per
band and per mode plus 4-hour time slots. Work only VK stations.

5.  DRCG World Wide RTTY Contest.  0000-0759Z Sat; 1600-2359Z Sat;
0800-1559Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone. Work everyone.

6. Asia-Pacific Sprint, SSB. 1100-1300Z Sat. 20M SSB. Exchange: RS
+ serial #. 6 kHZ QSY rule. Work only A-P stations.

7. Straight Key Century Club Weekend Sprintathon. Use a mechanical
key. 1200Z Sat to 2400Z Sun. 160-6M CW. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name,
SKCC# or "NONE." Look around and up from 050 kHz on most bands. Lower
of course on 160 and 6M. There is always a fair amount of activity in
this one. Mechanical keys include straight keys, bugs, cooties.

8. Portugal Day Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1200Z Sun. 80-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or Portugal district. Includes the Azoers
and Madeira. Work everyone.

9. GACW (Argentina) WWSA CW DX Contest. 1500Z Sat to 1500Z Sun. 80-10M
CW. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone. Work everyone, but get 0 points for same
country QSOs. You would still want to work each of the zones in the US
if you didn't already have those zones from Canadian (or other) stations.

10. ARRL June VHF Contest. 1800Z Sat to 0259Z Mon. 50 mHz and up, any
mode. Exchange: 4-character grid square. Six meters have had a lot of
Es openings lately and I hope there will be a lot of activity for this
one. If you don't hear a lot of CW or SSB activity, remember to check
the beacon band 50040 to 50080. If you are hearing beacons from an
area, point your antenna and call. There will be a lot of FI8 activity
even when signals can't be copied on the traditional modes.

11. 4 States QRP Group Second Sunday Sprint. 0000-0200Z Monday (Sunday
night local date). 160-10M CW, SSB. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC + 4S# or
power. Most activity seems to be around 14060, 7122, and 3565 kHz.
Occasionally some near 7040 kHz. I have never seen any SSB QSOs
reported in this one.

12. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 0000-0100Z Monday (Sunday night local
date). See #3 above.

13. North American QRP CW Club Milliwatt Sprint. 0030-0230Z Wed. Max
power one watt. 20, 40, 80M CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + NAQCC# or
power. Double your score for using a straight key and 1 1/2 your score
for use of a bug. If you can reduce your output power to one watt or
less, give this one a try. You may be surprised what is possible with
QRPp power.

14. CWOps Club CWT Tests. Each Thursday local date. 1300Z, 1900Z,
0300Z (Friday UTC date). 160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC.
Look around 023 to 053 kHz on each band except up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
  Three separate one-hour tests.

15. Wednesday and Thursday we will have the first running of the Flying
Pigs QRP Club Walk for the Bacon on 20M. These have been very
successful on 40M. 13 WPM max speed. Wednesday night June 16 local
date. 0000-0100Z Thursday. Suggested operating range: 14061-14065
kHz. 5W max power. Second session is Thursday local date, 0200-0300Z
Friday. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, FP# or power. You may work the same
station each night.

Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend. I have a tennis tournament
and will apparently play four matches this weekend, so my contesting
will be somewhat limited. 73, John, K4BAI, for SECC.
