This Week's Contests:
1. Straight Key Century Club Week Day Sprint Europe. Thursday
2000-2200Z. Use a mechanical key. 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST, SPC,
Name, SKCC# or "NONE." Work anyone, not just Europe. Activity around
here seems to start on 20M and move down to 40M. Look around 050-065
kHz on the higher bands and around 1820 kHz on 160M.
2. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday, local date. 0145-0215Z Friday.
15, 20, 40, 80, 160M RTTY. Max power 100W. One/one kHz QSY rule.
Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after one
intervening QSO. Look around 080-090 kHz on the upper bands and up from
1805 kHz on 160M.
3. QRP Fox Hunt 80M. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thursday evening local date).
Two QRP Foxes will be calling between 3550 and 3570 kHz. 5W max power.
Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Work only the two foxes and do not
spot their frequencies.
4. Flying Pigs QRP Club Walk for the Bacon. This is the second night of
this activity, the first having been Wednesday night. 0200-0300Z
Friday. 5W max power. Look around 7110 to 7125 with the "sweet spot"
being 7123 kHz. Maximum Speed: 13 WPM.
5. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday, local date. 0230-0259Z Friday. 15,
20, 40, 80, 160M CW. Max power 100W. One/one kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
#, name, SPC. No same band dupes permitted. Look around 040 to 046 kHz
on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
6. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 2000-2100Z Friday. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + SPC. Max speed: 20 WPM. You can use your NAQP CW
logging program, but add mults for any non North American countries
worked. Look around 029 to 053 kHz on each band and around 1820 kHz on
160M. Activity usually starts on 20M and moves down to 40M.
7. YB (Indonesia) DX Contest. 24 hours of Saturday UTC date. 80-10M
SSB. Exchange: RS + serial #. Work everybody.
8. Straight Key Century Club Week End Sprintathon (WES). 1200Z Sat to
2400Z Sun. Max operating time: 24 hours. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name,
SKCC# or "NONE." Look around 050 to 060 or 065 kHz on each band and
around 1820 kHz on 160M. Use a mechanical key. 5 extra bonus points
for each QSO on 80 and 160M.
9. ARRL RTTY Round Up. 80-10M RTTY, Digital. Almost any digital mode
other than CW may be used (see rules). Work everyone only once per band
regardless of mode. 1800Z Sat to 2400Z Sun. Max operating time: 24
hours. Exchange: RST + S/P or serial # for stations outside US and Canada.
10. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 0000Z to 0100Z Monday (Sunday evening
local date). Same as #6 above except activity may start on 20 or 40M
and move down to 80 or even 160M.
11. Four States QRP Group Second Sunday Sprint. 0100-0300Z Monday
(Sunday night local date). 160-10M CW, SSB. 5W max power on CW; 10W
max power on SSB. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC + 4S# or power. I have never
seen any SSB activity reported. CW activity is usually on 14060, 7122,
maybe 7040, 3564 khz.
12. QRP Fox Hunt. 40M. 0200-0330Z Wed (Tuesday night local date).
Same as #3 above except frequency range is 7030 to 7050 kHz and the two
foxes are scheduled to be: N9EP, ED, IL and K4OAQ, FRITZ, VA.
13. CWOps Club CWT Tests. Four separate one-hour CWT tests every
Wed/Thurs. 1300Z and 1900Z Wed. 0300 and 0700Z Thursday. Exchange:
Name + CWOps # or SPC. Look around 025 to 054 kHz on each band except
up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
