NOTE: This weekend is NAQP CW. SECC will enter teams. I sent out a
list yesterday and have added N4IJ. Anyone else who can participate in
NAQP this Saturday will be welcome. I will register the teams before
the contest starts. Please let me know ASAP if you will be QRV and want
to be on a team and if you will be FT, PT, or QRP. Thanks. k4bai at ku8e.com.

This Week's Contests:
1. NCCC RTTY Sprint. Every Thursday night. 0145-0215Z Friday. 15, 20,
40, 80, 160M RTTY. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. Same band dupes OK after one intervening QSO.
Look around 080-090 kHz on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
2. QRP Fox Hunt. 80M. Thursday local date. 0200-0330Z Friday. Two
QRP foxes will be calling between 3550 and 3570 kHz. 5W max power.
Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Work only the two foxes and do not
spot their frequencies. The foxes will be: N4FP, WAYNE, FL and K9CW,
DREW, IL. We should have a good shot at working both of these.
3. NCCC NS Sprint. Every Thursday night. 0230-0259Z Friday. 15, 20,
40, 80, 160M CW. 100W max power. One/one kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both
calls, #, name, SPC. No same band dupes permitted. Look around 040-046
kHz on the higher bands and up from 1815 kHz on 160M.
4. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). Every Friday 2000-2100Z. 160-10M CW.
Maximum speed 20 WPM. Exchange: Name + SPC. Look around 029 to 054 kHz
on the higher bands and around 1820 KHz on 160M. You can use your NAQP
CW logging program and add to your multiplier list any countries worked
outside NA. Activity usually starts on 20M and moves down to 40M.
5. Malaysia DX Contest. 0000-2359Z Sat. 80-10M SSB. Exchange: RS +
2 digit age. Work everyone.
6. Hungarian DX Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1159Z Sun. 160-10M CW, SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + serial # or 2 digit HA county.
7. PRO Digital Contest. 1200Z Sat to 1159Z Sun. 80-10M FT4. Exchange:
RST + serial # or "ME" for digital club members. Work everyone.
Suggested call is "CQ PDC." Note that HP is over 50W and LP is under 50W.
8. North American QSO Party, CW. 1800Z Sat to 0559Z Sun. 10 hour max
operating time with minimum of 30 minute off periods. 100W max power.
Multipliers count per mode. Team competition. Exchange: Name + SPC.
For stations outside NA, the exchange is only "Name." If your logging
program insists on something else in the exchange file, use "DX."
9. ARRL January VHF Contest. 1900Z Sat to 0359Z Mon. 50 mHz and
higher. Any mode. Exchange: 4 digit grid square. There is a club
aggregate score competition so include your club name in your log header
and on the upload page if you are within the ARRL circle for your club.
If it is SECC, use this spelling: "South East Contest Club."
10. Flying Pigs QRP Club January Run for the Bacon. 2300Z Sun to 0100Z
Mon. 160-10M CW. 5W max power. Exchange: RST + SPC + FP# or power.
11. K1USN Slow Speed Test (SST). 0000-0100Z Monday (Sunday night local
date). See #4 above. Activity may start on 20M if it is open and then
moved down to 40M and then to 80M (and possibly 160M).
12. QRP Fox Hunt. 40M. Tuesday night local date. 0200-0330Z Wed. See
# 2 above. Frequency range is 7030 to 7050 kHz and the two foxes are
K9CW, DREW, IL and N8SS, EARL, MI. If the conditions are like this
week, we should be able to work both foxes.
13. CWOps Club CWT Tests. 4 separate one-hour tests every Wed/Thurs.
Wed 1300Z and 1900Z. Thursday 0300Z and 0700Z. 160-10M CW. Exchange:
Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 025 to 053 kHz on each band, but up
from 1815 kHz on 160M.
14. Flying Pigs QRP Club January 20M Walk for the Bacon. First night
0000-0100Z Thursday (Wednesday night local date). 13 WPM max speed.
Exchange: RST + SPC + FP# or power. Look around 14060-14065 kHz.
Second night is the next night, 0200-0300Z Friday (Thursday night local
date). 20M is seldom open at this time of the year that late at night.
The next weekend will bring us the NAQP-SSB. Be sure to e-mail me about
being on a SECC team.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend. 73, John, K4BAI.
