Yes, while Skim Server (QS1R) keeps a Spots.txt file, CW Skimmer (Perseus,
SDR-IQ) does not. The format of the Spots.txt file is slightly different
than the TELNET server output, with the former including the date, which is
nice:

Sample Spots.txt:

 21055.3  K5KG        14-Jul-2012 1200Z   18 dB  32 WPM
<KM3T-#>
 21025.0  DL4CF       14-Jul-2012 1200Z   12 dB  35 WPM  CQ
<KM3T-#>
 21035.0  RZ3BW       14-Jul-2012 1200Z   15 dB  33 WPM  CQ
<KM3T-#>
 21045.3  W4IX        14-Jul-2012 1200Z   17 dB  31 WPM  CQ
<KM3T-#>
 21001.7  K0DQ        14-Jul-2012 1200Z   13 dB  31 WPM
<KM3T-#>

Sample TELNET log:

DX de EA4TX-#:   14012.2  OP0HQ          13 dB  32 WPM  CQ            1200Z
DX de EA4TX-#:   21012.4  K8AZ           30 dB  39 WPM  CQ            1200Z
DX de EA4TX-#:   28038.5  OL2HQ          28 dB  31 WPM  CQ            1200Z
DX de EA4TX-#:   21061.1  WD4AHZ         22 dB  30 WPM  CQ            1200Z

The nice thing about using TELNET to the Aggregator port (7550) rather than
TELNET directly to the Skimmer port (7300) is that the TELNET connection
stays *open* when the Aggregator stops and starts a Skimmer on a predefined
rotation.

The Spots.txt file sticks around too, but that means that it grows without
bound over time, and tends to get big fast on contest weekends. You can
use the FIND command or similar to split the file up into specific dates of
interest.
