[Skimmertalk] Multiple Red Pitaya on network: -- now will not work

Before taking a couple of months off, I had three Red Pitaya units, each on
a dedicated PC, running Skim Server, RTTY Skimmer, and WSJT. All the
radios were off during my absence, disconnected from the antennas and power.
The router remained running and after returning from vacation the dynamic
IP addresses had changed.

Now things have failed. I would start Skimmer Server (which includes the
MAC address in the ini file) and I would get an error message – something
about too many receivers. I can ping the units. Initially I could access
the units with a browser, keep it open and start skim server and this ran
successfully on all three machines overnight the next morning the units
failed. Now the behavior is different. If I reboot the computer and the
RP and then start skim server I get the message “Can’t locate HPSDR
device”. If I access the unit with a browser and then start skim server I
get “SDR failure – Timed out waiting for UDP data”.

What is weird is that often it is clear the receiver and Skim Server is
working for several seconds, reporting appropriate numbers of decoders,
then the Skim Server dialogue box will get a red check and throw the “timed
out” error message for a few seconds, and then return to receiving.

All three units demonstrate similar behavior. I don’t think I could have
messed up configuration files on three machines simultaneously. All three
of the RP are on an Ethernet switch along with two of the three PCs. The
computers are a mixture of Windows 7 and 10.

I may be too senile to successfully run this hardware and am just doing
something totally stupid. Pretty frustrated at the moment.
