A huge solar cycle 24 sunspot group has formed near E30N80 in the northern hemisphere of the Sun. It has pushed the solar flux index up from 71 to 155 and 6 meters is open globally via F2 layer propagation.
With a complex beta-gamma-delta magnetic configuration sunspot group #10115 has the potential to release a huge X class solar flare with attendant HF radio black outs, polar cap absorption and a geomagnetic storm reaching a Kp of 9, extreme geomagnetic storming.
You can see the sunspot group at http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/realtime/mdi_mag/512
