[NZ4O Spaceweather] Quiet Geomagnetic Conditions

Yesterday's Kp index (on a global scale) was 0 for the 24 hour period, 
unusually quiet! When the geomagnetic field is quiet the radio aurora 
contracts to near the approximate latitude of the poles and this allows 
MF/HF RF signals to pass through high latitude paths with little absorption.

As was expected the daily sunspot number (SSN) has decreased from a peak of 
137 on March 8th to 47 on March 15th. This has resulted in shorter 
propagation openings on 10 meters but 12 meters is still wide open on 
east-west paths.
