DISCUSSION OF DAILY SOLAR SPACE AND GEOMAGNETIC WEATHER-
Solar activity is moderate as far as emergence of new sunspot groups.
Currently there are 15 numbered and 4 un-numbered sunspot groups. Solar
activity is moderate as far as the number of new solar flares and their
magnitude. The largest solar flare in the past 24 hour period was a small
size C3.
The daily sunspot number (SSN) has been at 100 or higher for 3 consecutive
days, currently at 186. Also the geomagnetic field has been quiet for 19
consecutive days, with the Kp (planetary) index in the 0-2 range. During the
past 24 hour period the Kp was at 0. You can't get anymore quiet than that.
