The data string in response to a status enquiry command - '\' is as
follows:
RS232, 1200 baud (fixed), 30 bytes, left to right.
Byte 1-7: current displayed frequency to 10 Hz. 7.33500 MHz is

8: MODE (more or less)
bit 7 = FAST LED
bit 6 = RTTY
bit 5 = FM
bit 4 = AM
bit 3 = LSB
bit 2 = USB
bit 1 = CW
bit 0 = TUNE (LSB on =x'08')
9: FILTER (more or less)
bit 7 = 6.0 kHz
bit 6 = 2.4 kHz
bit 5 = 1.8 kHz
bit 4 = .50 kHz
bit 3 = .25 kHz
bit 2 = RX offset
bit 1 = TX offset
bit 0 = LOCK (RX offset on = x'40')

bit 7 = DATE LED
bit 6 = TIME LED
bit 5 = OFFSET LED
