263VFO B freq shift...

I notice that when I have a station tuned in on the B VFO (CW works best) that 
when I switch to A+B receive I change change the pitch of the station on B by 
adjusting the balance control. With the balance set for 100% B the pitch is 
true. As I move toward 50/50 A/B the pitch lowers. Beyond the 50/50 point the 
pitch remains the same. I am using the 263VFO with my Omni-D (revB...I think).

I had complained (to myself mostly) of a "ghosting" when listening A+B. I 
think now that this phantom station I thought I was hearing was really the 
problem I described above.

Anybody else see this? I have spent very little time with the schematic and 
none with a scope yet.
