I have an OMNI VI, a TS-50, a Scout and a Drake C-line (in addition to
the Argosy). I would sell every one of them before I would part with
the Argosy.

I haven't noticed any. I'm afraid I can't say the same for the Scout.
The Scout is still a good radio, though....

I like audio-derived AGC. A little popping keeps you awake on FD :-)
It is never annoying enough to bother me.

I have the 500 Hz crystal filter and the audio filter. I highly recommend
both of them. During FD I use the audio filter more than the xtal filter.

I have used the Argosy on every FD (except '95 when I went QRO) since
'81 or '82 (they all seem to run together now.....), in the mobile (I don't
recommend it for mobile) and at the home QTH. It is a great radio! If
you can find one, they go for around $400 +/- accessories; it's a great
value.
